You can find below the work the Northern Housing Consortium is doing to highlight the good work being done by members with children and young people. We are working to raise the profile of “what housing does” to improve the lives of residents in their areas. This series of briefings will focus on, and raise awareness of, the different approaches adopted by housing providers on various themes when working with children and young people.
Communication and Engagement
This briefing focuses on the theme of communication and engagement and showcases a number of case studies setting out the different ways housing providers are communicating and engaging with local children and young people, giving them an opportunity to get involved, have a say, shape local services, and help them build their confidence and reach their potential.
Housing
This briefing focuses on the theme of housing and showcases a number of case studies setting out the different ways housing providers are supporting young people with their housing needs. It outlines how organisations are also providing help with sustaining tenancies and preventing homelessness.
Education
This briefing focuses on education, and how housing providers are working with different educational institutions from early years to further education to support children and young people.
Employment, Skills and Training
This briefing focuses on employment, skills, and training, and the different initiatives housing providers are offering to young people to help secure training or employment, develop skills, and raise aspirations.
