On the 10th December 2020, the Northern Housing Consortium, in partnership with the All Party Parliamentary Group Housing in the North held a webinar based on the APPG’s publication No Home Left Behind: An Inquiry into Property Standards in the North’s Private Rented Sector.

Inspired by No Home Left Behind’s findings and recommendations to Government. The meeting aimed to bring together leading academics and practitioners to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the PRS, and the good work taking place across the North to raise and enforce housing standards.

The session also offered a chance for colleagues to come together and discuss how services had been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and look ahead to how best support communities in 2021, touching upon financial inclusion, preventing homelessness, and energy efficiency.

Chaired by esteemed academic Dr Julie Rugg and with introductory remarks by Ian Mearns MP, Chair of the APPG Housing in the North, the webinar includes contributions from the UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence, the University of Huddersfield, and Local Authorities representing the North East, North West, and Yorkshire and Humber.
