Northern Silver Screen Awards
We’ve been looking back at the Northern Silver Screen Awards which brought members together to celebrate the great work they do across the North.
The awards saw shortlisted projects filmed and then broadcast, in front of a packed auditorium in the evening after our Northern Housing Summit. Winners of each category were announced on the night after being judged by an independent panel.
In 2013, Bernicia Homes won a Silver Screen award for the Creativity category. Bernicia’s video detailed the housing association’s ‘Learning Hive’ project, which helped to deliver employment skills directly into communities where training and opportunities were limited.
The value of partnership working was a key message to come out of the project, with Bernicia working with the Northern Learning Trust to provide skills training and educational support for residents in the community.
Projects such as Bernicia’s Learning Hive scheme highlight the brilliant work our members do to improve outcomes for residents across the North.
Bernicia continue to support the Learning Hives and still work in partnership with the Northern Learning Trust who provide the training.
