We are delighted to team up with Ward Hadaway who will be hosting this breakfast briefing to help HR professionals plan for GDPR when it comes into force later this year.
The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) come into force on 25th May 2018. There is no soft landing for GDPR and no transition period, meaning businesses will have to comply and be able to show they comply from the outset.
HR departments process large amounts of personal data, not just in relation to their current workforce but also job applicants and former workers. The wider organisation will hold personal information of both current and past residents and also details of people who have applied or expressed an interest in becoming a resident. The accountability principles under GDPR will impose greater control over housing associations and those that process information on their behalf. This will significantly impact on how housing organisations have to manage staff and residents personal information.
Many organisations will see GDPR as an HR ‘thing’. HR are likely to have more touch points than any other part of the business in terms of personal information but HR alone can’t make the organisation GDPR-ready and neither can the business become GDPR-ready without HR.
Ward Hadaway will provide guests with practical guidance on the steps that HR should be taking to ensure compliance with the GDPR.
Ward Hadaway has previously hosted this seminar for their clients and have received some great feedback:
“Great insight into upcoming changes to GDPR”
“Really informative as it is HR based but very scary”
“Confirmation/clarification of how GDPR applies with real HR examples”.
“Steps for GDPR compliance very helpful”
“Very informative for someone at the start of the GDPR process”
“Plain English, how to outwardly look like GDPR compliant”
“Practical examples related to GDPR and cutting thorough jargon”
“Better understanding of subject and implications of HR”
