The NHC, in association with HACT, is pleased to present the Fifth Annual Social Value conference taking place on Wednesday, 6 February at Cloth Hall Leeds.

Universal Credit, continuing austerity, Brexit uncertainties, increasing poverty, poor mental health and inequality are all real concerns affecting tenants, communities and social housing providers. Now, more than ever, you need to be thinking about your social value.

In its further guidance to the Social Value Act, the Government has recognised that generating social value is essential to mitigating problems that are faced within communities. This applies to all stakeholders, whether social housing managers and staff, contractors and supply chain suppliers, or tenants, board members and the regulator. Everyone has a role to play in meeting these challenges.

How, though, do we move forward? How can we adapt our thinking and use the strength of our organisations and our partners to maximise our social value impact?

The social value conference will provide you with the answers.

With a combination of plenary sessions and practical, interactive mini-masterclasses from thought leaders and practitioners, the conference will be both challenging and stimulating. You will learn how to take advantage of the opportunities in the current social value policy context for the benefit of your communities.

Speakers will focus on the Social Value Act, the importance of social value from a board perspective, and how maximise the involvement of tenants.

Workshops will include discussions about innovative ways procurement can be used for social value, practical application of social value information for service improvement, different social value perspectives from around the UK, generation of social value through the built environment, and how the newly launched Centre for Excellence in Community Investment can measure impact beyond social value.
