The Northern Housing Consortium will be hosting a session on shared tenancies in the social sector on Tuesday 4 July between 1pm and 4pm at the offices of Yorkshire Housing, Leeds.
This event is for NHC members only.
In the wake of Government initiatives such as the LHA cap, the issue of shared tenancies in the social sector has become a real avenue for exploration for housing associations and local authorities looking to maintain their civic and charitable aims while retaining revenue.
We will hear from Ella Wesolowicz, Shared Housing Best Practice Officer at Crisis about their new toolkit designed for registered providers to enable them to make the best decisions when considering a shared tenancies pilot. We will also hear from Sean Lanesborough and Angela Havens from Rochdale Boroughwide Housing about their Let’s Share pilot as well as from Ben Hansen from Hull City Council about their approaches to shared tenancies.
There will be ample time for questions and answers from speakers as well as an opportunity for attendees to brainstorm ideas about making shared tenancies work and the perceived benefits/disincentives of shared tenancies.
Demand is expected to be high and places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment. If the event is fully booked, we will be operating a reserve list.
If you have any questions or queries about the event, please contact Callum Smith, Member Engagement Manager at callum.smith@northern-consortium.org.uk.
