NHC, in conjunction with Ward Hadaway and Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service (TWFRS), are holding a free employment breakfast seminar on Wednesday 23rd November 2016 at TWFRS HQ, Sunderland.
The sector has encountered very significant changes in the funding and regulatory environment in recent years, and this is driving inevitable changes in the way we manage our businesses.
Often this change will involve cost savings which may lead to redundancies. Redundancies cannot always be avoided, but they result in the loss of skills and affect our ability to meet the demands and requirements of stakeholders. There may be alternatives. Ward Hadaway will discuss alternatives to redundancies when staffing cost savings are vital.
How can an organisation grow and thrive against a background of budget cuts?
TWFRS are one of only 7 Metropolitan Fire Services in the UK and protect over 1.1million people. They respond to over 17,000 calls per annum and are one of the top performing emergency services in the UK; regularly the fastest to respond to incidents in the UK and have recorded 2 years with zero fire deaths. They have achieved this outstanding performance against the backdrop of significant budgetary cuts and are a world class organisation. TWFRS will discuss how this massive success has been achieved despite budget cuts.
Timings:
8:00am Registration and Breakfast
8:30am Presentations
10:00am An opportunity to view the TWFRS premises and see how they in practice have managed change.
