With a crowded policy agenda led by the Housing White Paper and subsequent announcements of government funding opportunities at both the Conservative Party Conference and in the autumn Budget, there is plenty to think about for local authorities considering expanding their affordable and social housing. Add to that, three separate pieces of research published in the autumn of 2017 looking into the growth in local authority housing companies, and the potential for bespoke deals with Government, now is an ideal time for local authorities to take stock of the funding and delivery opportunities available.
This timely roundtable, kindly facilitated by our colleagues from Savills, and led by an experienced panel of speakers offers the chance for senior housing and housing finance professionals to reflect on the current agenda, the availability of support for new delivery driven by the highest profile for housing in living memory, and the specific responses that might be needed from authorities in the North. We aim to cover both responses to the policy agenda and whether there are any specific “asks” needed for the North, as well as practical advice on how to develop and diversify.
Delegates will hear from;
- Mark Cook, Partner, Anthony Collins Solicitors
- Janet Sharpe, Director of Housing Services, Sheffield City Council
- Further speakers TBC
