Data protection remains a key risk for the sector and is an area that can cause both financial and reputational damage if mistakes are made.
The recent vote for the UK to leave the EU does pose some uncertainty on future rules, but the ICO has been clear that the reform of UK law remains necessary and has suggested that in order to continue to trade with Europe our UK data protection standards would have to be equivalent to the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) framework starting in 2018.
This focused seminar will examine some of the key issues for those working in data protection in the housing sector, with legal advice on how to proceed from Gareth Yates, Partner at Ward Hadaway. Andrew Dixon, a Digital Eagle from Barclays will discuss cyber fraud and how to protect against it.
