Join the Northern Housing Consortium and Financial Conduct Authority to take a closer look at and understand what Housing Providers need to know about applying for authorisation.
The regulation of consumer credit transferred to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) on the 1 April 2014. This “once in a generation” shift in regulation affects all 55,000 consumer credit license holders – including those working in the housing sector.
Feedback from our members suggests that the sector is finding the FCA’s processes problematic given their not-for-profit status and the unique way in which we support our tenants. With this in mind, the Northern Housing Consortium have arranged a one day session, facilitated by FCA, on all you need to know and understand about the process.
Whether you are thinking of applying for authorisation or your Application Period has already started, delegates will have the opportunity to hear from the FCA on:
- How and when to apply
- Supporting documents to supply
- Information on the compliance requirements and ongoing monitoring
- The different types and categories of permissions
- What systems to put in place to ensure compliance
This session will also provide delegates with opportunity for an open discussion, questions, sharing learning from others and an understanding of how financial and debt advice works across the sector.
