Housing is rightly recognised as an issue of national significance but it imperative that responses to the housing challenges recognise and reflect differing market conditions, needs and aspirations.
The Commission for Housing in the North’s final report “A New Framework for Housing in the North” sets out its recommendations in response to two critical questions it has considered –
“What is different about the housing requirements, problems and opportunities of the North of England?”
and
“What needs to be done differently in the North to address these?”
Following the release of the report on the 16th November 2016 at the House of Lords, our launch conference on 13th December at the Lowry Theatre, Salford Quays will provide an opportunity to further explore the Commission findings, the outcome of the Autumn Statement and consider how the NHC can best support our members in delivering on our shared ambitions for housing in the North.
The conference will hear from Commissioners and Expert Contributors, with the opportunity for delegates to take part in a full panel discussion, and our guest speaker and facilitator will be BBC journalist Winifred Robinson.
A drinks reception will follow from 4:30pm to 6:00pm.
This conference is free for NHC members but places are limited, so please let us know if you book and are later unable to attend.
