What we are looking for
We have an exciting vacancy for someone with strong project management and people skills to join our well-established Member Engagement team. Our members are our priority, and this role is key in supporting our members to create great homes and places and strengthen local decision making.
Knowledge of housing, regeneration and the wider work of NHC members is desirable though not essential.
This is an exciting role cutting across policy and practice, the right candidate will:
- Support the organisation of NHC Member Networks and wider events programme, central to our work sharing and developing the latest thinking, fostering collaboration, and highlighting good practice.
- Work closely with the Policy and External Relations team, ensuring that the NHC’s influencing work is both informed by, and communicated to, the NHC members you’ll work with on a daily basis.
Reporting to the Senior Engagement Manager, you’ll support the team in delivering key elements of the member engagement strategy, with a focus on our work with Mayoral Combined Authorities and Local Authorities. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who can build and maintain relationships, identify opportunities and communicate confidently with a wide range of external stakeholders.
We’re looking for a self-starter who can demonstrate confidence and excellent people and project management skills, with the ability to communicate well with people at all levels within our membership and beyond.
You will have strong written and verbal skills, and able to react quickly to new situations that arise and be hands-on when required. You will be a team player and confident at managing projects and multiple workstreams.
The successful candidate will:
- Work in a friendly and flexible environment with excellent benefits.
- Expand your profile across the whole of the housing sector, meet influential people and build your networks.
- Build knowledge and expertise on the key themes the role will deal with; devolution, regeneration, net zero, and the wider operating context of the housing sector in the North
We are flexible around working patterns and will consider applications for the role on a part-time basis between 30 to 37 hours per week, flexible across Monday – Friday.
